I'm a Christian. While I'm a bit disappointed in Google's decision to honor Cesar Chavez today, it's not an earth shattering event in my life. I'm still celebrating the risen Christ with my family and friends. My faith is secure, and I do not feel my faith has been attacked by Google, although it is really an odd choice on their part. But theirs to make, and any explanation would be to their stockholders.
for all of the religious cavemen/woman that will boycott google now, I suggest you boycott CD, too. After all, they use google ads.
everytime you view a page here on CD, you support google
I have a feeling those religious cavemen you are referring to were among the loudest opponents of the people who boycotted Chick-fil-a after their CEO made those asinine comments about gays. It must be tough for them to be on the other side of the fence for a change. Gotta say I'm enjoying it though!
You will be very happy to learn Cesar Chavez was a VERY religious man and practicing Catholic. He believed in the power of prayer and fasting and ended his fasts by receiving Holy Communion.

That's the real question. WHY is it odd to you? You do realize that not everybody is a christian, right? We are free to disassociate ourselves with all religion just as you are free to associate with the religion of your choice. As much as you would like it to be otherwise, America is not a theocracy. If that is what you want then take a look at countries like Iran and Saudi Arabia for a peek at how that would turn out. No thank you!
How PC of some folks to gnash their teeth because Google didn't honor their deity. I imagine if the shoe were on the other foot, we would see a thread or two titled something like "BREAKING: intolerant liberals go after Google, ban it from their internet searches".
Attack on Christianity? You have to be really insecure that Google not acknowledging your religion is an attack on your faith.
