The Defense Department came under fire Thursday for a U.S. Army Reserve presentation that classified Catholics and Evangelical Protestants as “extremist” religious groups alongside al Qaeda and the Ku Klux Klan.
The presentation detailed a number of extremist threats within the U.S. military, including white supremacist groups, street gangs, and religious sects.
The presentation identified seventeen religious organizations in a slide titled “religious extremism.” They include al Qaeda, Hamas, the Filipino separatist group Abu Sayyaf, and the Ku Klux Klan, which the slide identifies as a Christian organization.

Nice. A real source. I can't believe how half-assed some are by quoting a bias blog as a source.
maybe its excommunication time now with the new Pope..maybe a list should be put together for review.
I do agree that Pelosi, Biden and Sebelius are all extremists with their support for whatever Obama wants to do and the Catholic Church should crack down on them. Actually they have. Their Bishops have told them to stop receiving communion since they disagree so much with Church teachings.
The Archdiocese for the Military Services and Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty recently became aware of a U.S. Army Reserve Equal Opportunity training brief that expressly listed “Catholicism,” “Evangelical Christianity” and other religious groups as examples of “religious extremism” alongside groups such as “Al Qaeda”, “Hamas” and the “KKK.”
The Archdiocese is astounded that Catholics were listed alongside groups that are, by their very mission and nature, violent and extremist.
According to an investigation and reply from the Army Chief of Chaplains office, the training in question appears to have been an isolated incident not condoned by the Department of the Army. The Archdiocese and the Chaplain Alliance explained that the Army can and should take steps to prevent such incidents in the future.
I was raised Catholic and I know for a fact many Catholics are extremists.
Defending priests who have sex with children is extremist, I don't need a manual to tell me that.
I guess you haven't read the latest on this. Those priests are being taken out and some will go to prison. At one time it was thought these men could be cured but not anymore.
Most Christians are not extremists, but the lunatic ones who harass women at abortion clinics are extremist, no doubt.
Right, its not good to try to save the lives of innocent babies. Roll eyes. The women should not be harassed but just standing and praying is not harassment.
