Obama never did get behind the issue. He's made a few dismissable speeches between fundraisers and vacations but that's it so yeah, what is shocking here?

The reason everyone went silent is because he said something so outrageously stupid they were trying to find a way of salvaging the interview with a crazy person. It's generally not a good thing to say something so stupid that even Fox hosts are stunned and embarrassed to have brought you on.
