Not one of these people mentioned the lack of security controls at the school. The answer is some sort of useless gun control law? How about preventing a homicidal mental case from walking in the front door of a target rich environment? I heard some of the parents claim 11 children escaped because the shooter had to reload; how many would have escaped if the shooter couldn't get into the building?

I believe the citizens of Newtown are responsible for the death of the children. They FAILED to protect the children. Rather than admit failure they are blaming an inanimate object.

The parents have probably been carpet bombed with gun control propaganda vis a vi journalists and various government operatives and dont know which way is up anymore.

Facts of this event are too murky to make any sense of it.

Yeah, let's blame the parents because an elementary school wasn't armed and locked down like a maximum security prison

The shooter had access to the school. Why? It seems simple that if you are entrusted with the safety and security of children you would take measures to restrict access to the facility. Reports say he "shot out" windows to get in. Why would that be possible if the community was serious about protecting children?

These people are delusional if they think a magazine ban will do anything. What happens when the next killer walks in with a standard 7 round pump shotgun that they can reload on the fly? Are the six year old children going to fair any better against 7 to 9 .32 caliber balls flying out the barrel with every pull of the trigger?

So now you are saying it's the community's fault for not having bullet proof glass on an elementary school? That is just crazy talk

How about we keep guns out of the hands of nutcases so there isn't a next time.

I didn't say blame the parents, I said blame the community. Why did the school have windows right next to the door that defeated the ENTIRE PURPOSE of having doors? Doors are meant to stop access but when you place full paneglass windows beside the door it sort if defeats the purpose of having a freaking door in the first place.

If you want an "open school" that anyone can access then expect more mass shootings. Perhaps the school personell should have a little bit of control over who can access?

Or you can blame me as a gun owner even though I'm thousands of miles away. Because that is what happens on this forum by many gun control proponents.

I just don't get it!

Polarizing your postions to the extent that it is either arm every individual and have every school campus, library, mall hang out for kids protected like an armed fortress OR attempt, however late in the day, to control in some manner those who have access to firearms seems like a futile exercise.

How far are you prepared to take this nonsense?

Will you eventually be happy when you're all walking around watching everyone else out of the corner of your eyes. Are you going to off load your trust in the goodness of your fellow human beings or are you constantly going to fear the school bus driver going off the rails and shooting a bunch of kids on his bus because they finally made enough noise to push him over the edge.

That cop guarding your school; are you going to be completely turstworthy of his sanity or is his nasty divorce going to worry you while at work.

What about the nut who simply parks at the end of your driveway and lets fly with a higher caliper semi-auto? Gonna move into that underground bunker and start stockpiling food?

You folks are making quite the effort in regressing yourselves back to the early 1800's. Hope you're prepared to accept the life expectancy of those days along with that. Some world you're making for your children. I'd have to ask the question; is this worth it if you have to constantly live in fear like this?

The citizens of Newtown are responsible for one thing only and that is being normal parents.
