Looks like the gun laws do work. He was unable to get a firearm.

have we already forgotten about the nanny in NY that killed the two young siblings with a kitchen knife? Good thing she didn't have a gun, she might have killed them more/worse?

Every week since the Sandy Hook killings, there is a new one in a different State and a different city.

The way we are going, and the power of this administration, you name it and it might be outlawed.

Guns today, knives tomorrow, and then what. Heard about the idiot that walked into a wal-mart, went to where the saws were, and tried to saw his arm off. Are we now going to ban saws too.

These idiots are coming out of the woodwork. I don't think it is gun laws we need, but mental laws, because everyone seems to be going mental on us.

This nation is run and controlled by big pharma......

Everyone these days is medicated. There is a pill to fix it, with a list of mental side effects.

What we need to do is ban WalMarts.

That would solve a lot of problems in this country.

We've already tried knife control. In 1958 we banned switchblades, after a crusade by a liberal Senator named Estes Kefauver, from Tennessee of all places. As a kid growing up I wanted a switchblade bad, mostly because I couldn't have one. Now years later I could get one, but I don't want one. Switchblades depend on a spring to open, which makes them inherently weak and unreliable. A simple fixed blade knife is stronger and quicker into action. Even among folders there are better options than the switchblade, such as the Emerson wave and balisong.

How effective was the 1958 ban in curbing "knife violence?" Not very, I think we can all agree. We'll get exactly the same result with the moronic gun legislation currently being proposed.

plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose

Especially when it comes to liberalism.
