Neil MacInnis: Online Posts May Detail Weapons, Ammo Used in Va. Community College Shooting - ABC News

I find especially interesting the quickly passed over factoid that "Yes, we can confirm that Macinnis passed the police department's Civilian Academy in 2012!"
That's right, the POLICE DEPARTMENT taught him how to use a shotgun!

Probably not, civilian academies basically focus on laws, police actions/policies/procedures, victims assistance, various LE units and their functions and how they relate to the community, they typically don't teach firearms instruction.

Then why did Macinnis state in his internet blog that the only time he had used a shotgun was during the police training?

From the article:

The 12-week course allowed participants to ride along with police officers, tour the officers' training facility, as well as practice with firearms at the firing range, the Associated Press reported.

""I'm nervous because I've never really handled a shotgun but a few times with the Christiansburg police," Neil MacInnis, of Christiansburg, Va., reportedly posted just minutes before he opened fire at the satellite campus of New River Community College at New River Valley Mall, police said."

There is NO doubt about it, THE POLICE trained the shooter!

Hence the "probably", I've taught at three and no one came anywhere near a firearm. I'd have to research theirs and see if that's the case.

What possible difference does it make who trained him? You can get training pretty much anywhere.

The police are no more to blame than a chef would be had the goofball done harm to someone with a knife after taking a freakin' cooking class.

Stop looking for blame and focus on the perp.

GoodGrief!

Well, McInnis is a prime example of the "Ziggy Boom Pill" generation coming of age. Poor bastard was probably "identified" as ADHD when he was 2 years old (Oh yes, I've heard of that!) and given a pocket full of Xanax and Effexor to pop his entire developing years. I ain't being a smart ass here - I'm telling 'ya, those drugs doctors are passing out like M & M's are a factor in all this. That, and along with a ****ty processed diet starves the brain of proper healthy development. I'm not a bit at all surprised.

That, too.

Parents are killing their kids with pills when they should be parenting.

Instead of discipline, the brat gets something loaded with sugar, then a pill to set him straight.

Pathetic!
