This is an honest question, intended not only for those on the right, but also on the left. Both complain of lost liberties, but rarely is such a list compiled. I'm not looking for generalities, but specific freedoms that you believe have been lost.

The freedom to secure my own food (fishing) without a government permit.

The freedom to drive a car without a seatbelt on.

The freedom to communicate through telephone, wire (e-mail), mail, without surreptitious collection, dissection and copy made w/out my consent or knowledge.

The freedom to move within the country freely w/out monitoring or documenting.

The freedom to assemble and/or protest w/out approval or per-determined areas.

The freedom to 'face you accuser' --- who reported something anonymously via some 800#.

I don't know when this was lost exactly and it's not a huge deal, but it BUGS me.

And the freedom to use your fire place (with REAL FIRE!) without checking 'global', aeronautic approvals.

Freedom to drive your old car (without all the ridiculous smog sheet).
