Also, "ties to al Qaeda" is pretty thin. The link's evidence is the detainee shares the name "Al Hardi" with several known terrorists. In Arabic, the pronoun "al" means "of", as in Abdoul al Hardi= that guy Abdul, the one from the village (or clan) of Hardi.
al Hardi is a very common name in SA, so the "guilt by region/clan" assertion is pretty lame.
