Judge: Drivers Allowed to Flash Headlights to Warn About Cops Ahead - NBC News

We have a lot of complaints about authoritarian police actions but the public is winning quite a few.

It's a great way to get speeders to slow down whether there is a cop around or not...especially in a school zone.

I see the ACLU is doing more Earth Shattering work. Maybe Jody Foster will want to do a movie about headlight flashing after this. Stupid.

I've only seen flashing headlights to alert other drivers that their headlights aren't on. I'd never think it was any kind of warning.

Interesting, however, if the government has a valid basis for limiting speech for reasons other than limiting speech (in this case public safety would be the argument), then the law could still stand.

This is just a district court ruling, the lowest level Federal court, and the ruling is only applicable in that district.

Why does the ACLU always shut down when white people are killed by minorities?

Um, it's the American Civil Liberties Union - what exactly would their role be in a violent crime perpetrated by a private citizen (as opposed to having been perpetrated by the government).

As for guns, I think the NRA has that one covered.
