Sanford couldn't get a debate, so he literally decided to debate a cardboard cutout that's not even his opponent! Cardboard cutouts have become the new "chair." What a fitting analogy to modern Republican tactics... if you can't pin down your opponent, you literally put up a straw man to debate.
