If the "Libertarians" on this site are any indication, it's b/c they don't actually understand Libertarian views or how it gets applied in the real world.
Actually, Libertarians support the view that our country is a "sovereign nation" based on the Constitution and that as a nation, we should protect our borders and not interfere in foreign nations.
You can't have open immigration (or even mass immigration of low skilled workers) and have a welfare state. If you want to hand out passports and keep the welfare state hand them out to educated Chinese and Indians.

I believe in unrestricted legal immigration to this country, we had waves of immigrants come into this country and it's made us a better place.
