It's just beginning. It's going to get worse. It will spread.

The problem with Spain's austerity is that the young people, the tax base, are just upping and leaving the country - and who in their right minds wouldn't? If they had simply moderated their approach and spent some money on taking care of essentials and had some kind of focused economic recovery plan that included employment first and balanced budgets second, they could have reassured workers that it's worth it to stay and stick it out. Now you have unemployment, you have people leaving the country, and worst of all...they're not even balancing the budget!!!

They are EU citizens. They can move to any other EU country.

This is an opportunity to look ahead at what is going to happen in the USA if we don't get our financial house in order. Today it's Spain, we could be next if things don't change.

Yea it's better to be Greece or Cyprus where instead of austerity they help themselves to your bank account.

Well it's better for those without bank accounts I guess...
