Redtails? Really? Baboons have red tails when they're getting ready to mate. I like the way David Grosso claims "redskin" is racist. How are a bunch of black players going to like being compared to baboons with red tails? Life could get very interesting.

Wouldn't some see that as racist? I mean, as the other poster mentioned, the first thing someone is liable to think of when they hear "red tail" is a baboon. So if someone ignorant of history wants to play butt-hurt (another red tail??) they could complain that the black Tuskgee airmen are being compared to monkeys.
Come to think of it though...we're talking about the Washington, DC team. And DC seems to be the capital of "butt-hurt". Maybe Red Tails is appropriate after all?????

Why would the people of LA care about a football team 3000 miles away?

I could maybe see some confusion at first. I would think honoring a specif group of WWII vet would rub some the wrong way.
name changes for teams these days is more common.
If the name we tobe changed, I think it should be the Washington War Dogs.
Honoring the dogs that served out troops when at war.
