Obama derangement syndrome. Seems to be an epidemic.

As a former vet, I'd like to mention that some soldiers eventually get purple hearts. If only Obama gave enough of a damn to actually show up and give them out himself, instead of farming it off to others.

Obama visits wounded troops, awards two Purple Hearts

I think it's pretty obvious what's going on here.
Not disputing or agreeing with your thoughts, after all, they are yours.

But I do have a question for you:

Why do you consider yourself a "former vet"? How is that even possible? You either are a vet or you are not.

Of course you are.

You're missing the fact that every president calls athletes for various accomplishments, even your beloved Bush and Reagan.

You're missing the fact that although this post purports to be from some retired army officer, your readers will quickly identify it as something that is making the rounds of right-wing web sites.

You're missing the fact that it is entirely appropriate for President Obama to support and recognize people standing up for their civil rights.

You're missing the fact that your beloved Bush had a pattern of not only failing to attend military funerals, but fought hard to prevent any press coverage or disclosure of the military coffins that were flown in under cover of night so the American people would not be confronted with the sight of flag-covered coffins to make Bush's war less popular.

So yes, you are missing quite a bit.

Gay is the new black, so one has to expect it from the first black prez. Nobody gives a damn about vets except vets. We are all we have, and some of us have realized that war is a racket so we just don't get as wound up about this sort of thing anymore. Good call dd. camaro69, I get where you are coming from, but it's time to get over it. US troops are dying at a higher rate by suicide than combat now. Let's find out what's missing in that equation.

The families received Flags, Military funerals and letters of condolences from the President that was sitting when their Soldiers died. There was never a personal phone call from the President so why would President Obama be held to a different standard?

I was born in raised in Hawaii but am not a fan of Obama; I AM a fan of all of the US Service members and the families that love them.

Did Bush call all 4000+ who died in his stupid Iraq War? I would guess, no.

How about daddy Bush, Nixon, Johnson, Truman, Roosevelt? No? Well, gee, when what makes you think Obama will?

Nobody called me when I got my kidney blown up in VN. I didn't expect them to. I was just glad I got out of there alive.
