Where is the poll entry for "It already does - anyone can go to any emergency room and get care, whether they can pay for it or not"

No -- it's time people pay for what they want.

We've got so many indigent immigrants coming over to be taken care of by our government, we're becoming the flop house of the world. It's time people start immigrating to those nations that already provide unlimited free health care to all.

The ER is great for a compound fracture or a cardiac event, but try going because you need dialysis or cancer treatment.

I am all for Universal Healthcare, but not what are corrupt leaders are proposing.
It is a gift to the Healthcare Industry and will keep it expensive unlike how cheap it is in other countries.

The amount of lobbying money given to politicians from the healthcare industry rivals what is given from the finance industry.

From 1998 to 2013, The Healthcare has given 5.5 Billion Dollars to our politicians to buy them to do their bidding. Those are politicians that part of my taxes go toward to support their corrupt and lavish lifestyles.
It is criminal and theft.

Health $5,485,875,161
Finance/Insur/RealEst $5,481,782,185

Yep, and if you drill down the number some more you will find more is coming from the drug companies and hospitals than insurance companies.

It is rarely free unless the hospital is non-profit and has a charity fund. Otherwise, they will sue you, seize any assets you have, and garnish your wages for the rest of your life. That is not free, especially when you consider that if you go for something simple that could be done in a clinic, you are going to be charged 10X more!

I wish people would get it through their little pin heads that ERs DO NOT PROVIDE HEALTHCARE THEY PROVIDE ACUTE EMERGENCY CARE. ER professionals can pull your ass back from death or deal with blunt force trauma, fire arms discharges or dealing with what is left after a motor vehicle accident. They do not treat cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabettes ,renal disease, auto immune disorders, orthopaedic reconstruction, COPD, recovering from strokes or neurological issues. If it is obvious what the problem is they will do is gives you a piece of paper included in discharge papers that gives a list of doctors mostly specialists to get real health care doctors or their gate keepers who will ask you right off the bat do you have insurance the practice accepts and if not can you pay up front.
For most low income Americans the answer is usually no so that ends the course of treatment until the problem mushrooms into another life threatening crisis and we do this all over again.

Our Healthcare Industry is all a racket to steal more from its citizens so that the cockroach's at the top can keep the gravy train going.

Anyone ever look at what some of the Big Pharma Sales people pull in, much less the CEO's at the top?

I would have no issue with what they make if they did not have their nose meddling in our government to serve themselves.

Apparently, this was so important to you, that you needed to post it twice.

Secondly, I'd like to see how well it would work if you walked into an emergency room and said you wanted to get your yearly physical, or you wanted a gynecological exam. Not going to happen. And these are the things that people skip because they can't afford it currently, and things which lead to more costly complications later, which they definitely can't afford. Then they go to the emergency room and pass the highly-inflated bill on to everyone else.

That's not universal healthcare. Nice try, though.
