And that is your problem. Do not like gay sex, do not have gay sex. But it is not a perversion. What is perverted is people who want to force their god and beliefs on everyone else.
It's significant to some people....or maybe even more than you care to realize. Why did "mother and father" have to be stricken? Why not just amended to add "parent"??
No, they took Mother and Father out totally...and why? Why would they make such a arcane concession for an overwhelming minority?
It is called simplyfying the forms, it is very simple to just have parent 1 and parent 2 rather than two forms. What difference does it make if it says mother or father. There is no big deal about it, just all the conservatives got their panties in a twist for no reason at all, they just want to squeel about it.

Honor students will not only be cautioned against thanking Jesus Christ in their graduation speech, but also cautioned against thanking "mom and dad." If you think this is absurd, 25 years ago they would have thought banning students from thanking Jesus would have been absurd.

Why? I call myself a mother, so does my partner. We are both mothers.
How many of them are from single parent homes with stray fathers? In this case, Mother and Father would still suffice.
Not if the step father isn't the LEGAL father.
