this should get some play in the media this week. its a divisive topic, one where blacks and whites on here won't see eye to eye on most likely.

if its less fortunate black people he's talking about, i could buy it. if its your regular black guy i dont know.

'As an African-American you have to work twice as hard': Obama tells Morehouse graduates he has a 'special obligation' to help less-fortunate black people | Mail Online

Ummmm. No they don't. They get hired over whites and get all the handouts needed. Try doing that if you're white.

Interestingly, one the biggest problems I have with Obama is that he has not reached out to the black community. He could have been a phenomenal role model for black youths, but for some reason he has refused to accept that mantle. He could have been speaking about what they could do to make their lives as enriched and sucessful as his. I still have hopes that he will do that after he gets out of the presidency, but I suspect instead he will choose to perpetuate the dependency culture instead.

That's what my folks told me. Pretty standard message aspiration all Black folks tell their kids.

And there are people who assume if you get hired, if you get a promotion, if you get a raise, or if you get an award it is because you are the token black, not because you earned it. You get treated by some people like you are incompetent and you don't deserve to be there. That too is frustrated. My husband graduated third in his law school class, and yet at graduation someone made a snide comment about him being an affirmative action baby.

What handouts? If what you are saying is true why is Black unemployment higher than White?

Everyone has to work hard. What do you expect to be told you can just cruise?

Why don't you ask Obama where the jobs are. All I heard was "re-building American from the middle class out" but of course he is more interested in green energy than he is in you. You are too blind to see it because he's black. Remember, if you have issue with whites, Obama is half white.

Just another Obama 'Siren Song' to the willing to listen.

Oh, poor me, I have to work so hard...

I was born to a white gal who picked cotton as a child, bore three useless kids, fed and housed them, then divorced her useless husband, and cleaned houses to support those kids. There was no government involvement.

It's not just blacks that have to work twice as hard. It's just the song being sung to suck them in.

She did, BTW, do it her way.

First off I think Obama is incompetent and Liberalism is an ideology for the childish. That doesn't erase the fact that Blacks are discriminated against in one degree or another. That successful Blacks have to fight stereotypes about them about their abilities.

Where I depart from most Black people is I don't choose to whine about it and I realize that many of our people are not engaging in productive endeavors.
