We really do have absolute idiots running our schools. This is totally over the edge, even for the idiots who are trying to eliminate all risk from our lives.

PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — Worries about injuries at a Long Island school have led to a surprising ban.

As CBS 2’s Jennifer McLogan reported Monday, officials at Weber Middle School in Port Washington are worried that students are getting hurt during recess. Thus, they have instituted a ban on footballs, baseballs, lacrosse balls, or anything that might hurt someone on school grounds.

Tossing a football during recess has long seemed to be a rite of passage for kids in the school community.

“I think we need the soccer balls, the footballs and everything, so we can have some fun,” one student said.

But the students will have no such option anymore. They were just informed that during recess, football is out and Nerf ball is in. Hard soccer balls have been banned, along with baseballs and lacrosse balls, rough games of tag, or cartwheels unless supervised by a coach.

As long as there are parents who will sue school districts over the silliest, pettiest minor injuries, insults, etc, school districts will take ridiculous measures to protect their funds from these parasites and their lawyers.

Yeah, as much as people want to blame the pussification (yep, that's a word, trust me....lol) of kids on the schools, it really is a knee-jerk reaction to frivolous lawsuits.

Amazing that my generation turned out okay, even though we were allowed to play kickball as kids.

Just neuter them already so they can ban the balls that they really want to.

Best of all, these are the same morons that complain about child obesity. What's next...at recess our kids have to shuffle around in a circle with their hands in their pockets?

What lawsuit? No mention of one in the story unless you have some inside intel lol
These school administrators think they are gods and this particular group should become unemployed very quickly...unless the parents of the actual school children affected say different.
Oh and its not "their funds",its tax payer dollars.

Just felt you had to make a post, even though you had nothing.

Wait until Obamacare fully kicks in!!! To save costs, all contact sports will be ban, because of the cost of injuries.
You can see the writing on the wall.

More kids are hurt by the stairs at the school, than are hurt by a ball hitting them.
