Why does this surprise anyone? A lot of people knew what Hitler was doing to the jews and were ok with it too.

Didn’t Colorado just legalize pot ?

Considering the likely illegal funding of the TP and other RW groups I think they were selected by the IRS for very good reasons. As the IRS has very limited ability to investigate potential fraud they were correct to spend their resources where fraud was likeliest.

I don't know if they need to be thanked, but the IRS was just following its normal practice of focusing attention on the most likely law breakers.

Greg is right 501c4's have guidelines and ones that the tea party is skirting mirkily. Frankly the entire classification, along with Citizens United needs to be thrown out. But in the current climate looking into groups like this is absolutely warranted (by the way, liberal groups were also targeted and looking into, they are just outnumbered by the teabagger nutjobs).

How many of these "likely" groups did they find actually breaking the law?

Liberalism is a mental disorder.

Eliminate 501 (c) 4 and the IRS jobs that are required to support it.
