Wow. 4 pages on wether or not Obama is a socialist, and not one post on GOP ideas.
Just goes to show how devoid of anything constructive the right wing is.

President Obama will be gone in 3 years. Why are you conservatives still munching the carpet over Obama?
As far as I can see, they don't exist. You're wasting precocious time. Bringing nothing to the table except Obama hate isn't going to win anything. It's been 5 years and you still don't get it.

Lightbulb For those of you who keep saying that the GOP can't win on ideas....

... you're right.

How far would any leftie get in a national election by running as a true socialist?

Did you not read the OP, or did you just read the title? Here is the OP again:

In spite of the title, this thread was never intended to promote Republican Ideas. The responses stayed right on topic.

NOTHING.

The most socialist province in Canada is Saskatchewan. You Americans would be in heaven on earth if things were as good anywhere in the USA as they are there. There is almost zero unemployment. Wages are very high and the people seem to be very happy and satisfied.

Exactly. Economically, Obama has given breaks to businesses, continued Bush Jr's policy of bailing out large businesses and banks, and has NOT led the left-wing anti-business environmental crusade so long predicted by conservative talk radio obliviots. He is a long, LONG way from any type of socialist. A socialist system is one where, economically, the workers own and control everything, but unlike Communism they can work harder to get ahead. Obama is completely on the other end of the spectrum from socialism.

Socially, he's promoted government authority to control our lives (drones, wars, renewed Patriot Act, drug enforcement) at the expense of personal freedom, just like a good republican. Obama is more in line with Republican ideals than Reagan (who was once a Democrat). This is an area where the obliviots on talk radio can at least honestly say he leans in the direction of Fascism (pure nationalism, state controls all, where there are few individual liberties), but he isn't even close to being as bad as the most extreme Republicans.
