Get rid of religion and then government can take it's place and legislate what's morally/ethically right and wrong.
I do believe that is what a minority of people advocate.

Exactly.

Just as there is no such thing as a "gay" person. What there is is a growing portion of the population hell bent on making bizarre behavior choices in life. And the more that offensive and disruptive behavior choices are encouraged and celebrated, the more of them there will be.
