I think the left in America is very docile for the most part.
I think this is because left in America has won every major battle.
There is only one big issue for the left and that is climate change, which is hugely important, but for a lot of reasons the left isn't yet as rabidly passionate about climate change as they used to be about other big issues.
Think about it the elderly now have income support for the rest of their lives, and access to healthcare. Racism, sexism, and now homophobia are made illegal in terms of the government and private industry. Workers have the right to unionize and working conditions for workers are much better than before. There is now universal healthcare, access to abortions, anti-poverty programs, universal access to public schools, help for the disabled, etc and so on.
The left has largely won and now the left if basically docile.
When I see lefties in the past, I am like damn those people were really pushing hard, really fighting hard, really risking their lives or livelihoods, reputations, were really changing society in huge and important ways that are still with us today.
Now conservatives think of President Obama as this huge liberal who is bullying them, but President Obama is slightly liberal, but a very mild man. Yet President Obama really does kind of represent what is considered the mainstream left, him and Nancy Pelosi, but neither are at all radical.

Denial – This is when the left refuses to admit that they've done something not so nice. It's a way they lie (to themselves as well as to others) about their aggressive intentions. "Who... It's also the way the aggressor gives him/herself permission to keep right on doing what they want to do. This denial is not the same kind of denial that a person who has just lost a loved one and can't quite bear to accept the pain and reality of the loss engages in. That type of denial really is mostly a "defense". Rather, this type of denial is not primarily a "defense" but a maneuver the aggressor uses to get others to back off, back down for insinuating he's doing something wrong.

This exactly. The left is extremely mild-mannered when compared to the rhetoric we hear about Obama on a daily basis.
You realize that many on the right called Obama that anti-christ, correct? Many still believe that today. Calling him the anti-christ, socialist, communist, not to mention the whole birther thing, are all worse than anything the left has done.
A sizable amount on the right believe Obama is not only a bad president (which is perfectly fine to believe), but are convinced he is actively plotting the downfall of this nation. You won't hear the left claiming that about Republicans, I can tell you that much.

Prime example of the far more divisive rhetoric from the right. Never would I claim that those on the right are not true Americans, as this poster is claiming for liberals. Never would I say Romney's America (had he been elected) and the United States of America are two different entities. And never would I say that there is some secret plot by conservatives to ruin America.
