As you get up early in the morning to go to work, as you scrimped to pay your bills, as you prayed you didn't lose your job in 2010 the IRS was spending the money you paid in taxes to the tune of $50 million. 2,600 attendees received benefits, including baseball tickets and stays in presidential suites that normally cost $1,500 to $3,500 per night. In addition, 15 outside speakers were paid a total of $135,000 in fees
If that is not insulting enough the employees received gifts, you got to pay for "squirting fish".
Even more insulting Obama ran on raising taxes on the American people. Make people pay "just a little more" . Naturally those on the left who don't pay taxes do not think this is a big deal but for those who actually "work" and "pay taxes" and struggle to make ends meet. I thought this should make you feel so much better.
when the taxpayers are outnumbered by those that get a government paycheck or some government entitlement, those that pay the taxes might just decide to not pay them.
Maybe you are NOT aware, after the Bush tax cuts went into affect, revenues raised at an all time record.
Revenue was inconsistent during the 00's. Housing bubble bucks created a demand and employed a heck of a lot of people, for awhile. Revenues sharply declined in 2008-9 when the party was over, despite no change in tax rates.
Invading Iraq and searching for WMD in the name of defense put people to work. Cept there were no weapons and the U.S. will be paying for that war for decades.
Reducing taxes while significantly increasing spending is what exploded the deficit.
A Republican Congress approved Medicare part D ( prescription drug coverage) to increase the likelihood of reelection. At the same time they refused to allow Medicare to negotiate prices as is done in other nations. It was a windfall for Big Pharm and helped get Bush elected to term 2.
Government agency conferences peaked in the Bush Republican years. The IRS was no exception. Where was the outrage? Boondoggle spending has been cut 85% under Obama. No doubt heads will roll and more cuts to come.
The left thinks like a 2 year olds. Would you like a squirting fish middle aged mom?
So it's ok for the Obama team to do it and demand the American people pay higher taxes because they can not control their spending while everyone else is struggling to pay their bills.
Obama put a stop to the waste in the IRS?? Really?? How did that happen when he only found out about the scandals when we did?
