Won't matter at this point, at least not to those that really care about this issue. The damage has been done. However most sheeple wont give a dam as long as they can go back to the comfortable little bubbles with twitter the day away.

People have already put their life on the internet and are encouraged to do more and more.
The youth are really sucked in.

Social networking data was used by the Obama campaign to target, sway and influence.
And it worked.

The key word there is "direct".
Interceptors are not direct access and that's what I've read the NSA is doing.

This is akin to Clapper redefining "collecting".
They make it very clear: they have NOT given NSA any back door access which they could use to extract data on their own, and they also have NOT allowed NSA to install any hardware in their networks. Whatever data they have was delivered by the tech companies.

Yes, no one should assume the internet is private. It is anything but private.

Actually Ron Paul had the most widespread and most successful campaign in the social media. Of course he didn't win, but he was the most visible in the social media, which might explain his popularity among the younger people.

An interceptor is not back door access.

It's more "man in the middle" access.

And the NSA has requested companies build back door into their software.
They're considering Congress mandating it.

These companies run on the internet, they do not own the fiber.
The telecoms do.

AT&T room 641A. Google has no say over what AT&T does with the internet backbone.

Until we see the FISA warrants/court orders, we are only speculating.

Well, they are saying that is not the case, and they want to clarify the extent of the data sharing. Perhaps you'd like to wait and see what they have to say.

That's what I said in my post. Until the warrant/court order is made public we are only speculating.

How To Read Political Words and Phrases 101 would be a good course to take.

There is no such thing as a direct answer.

We need to get rid of every single one. All of them. They are professional liars.

Nobody should take anything in the MSM at face value these days.
The MSM is the voice of the government.

Who are the contractors for the NSA ? Why a bunch of retired Government and Military big wigs who were once connected to "Intelligence" and counter-terrorism.

Who’s helping the NSA? A Look at Palantir | "money doesn't talk, it swears"

Palantir sells a powerful line of data-mining and analysis software that maps out human social networks for counter-intelligence purposes, and is in huge demand throughout government and in the financial and banking industries. Its customers includes the CIA, the FBI, the U.S. Special Operations Command, the Army, Marines and Air Force, as well as the police departments of New York and Los Angeles.
..
In 2005, In-Q-Tel, the CIA’s venture capital fund, invested about $2 million in the company, and CIA officials began introducing Palantir to other intelligence agencies and the Pentagon. It is currently valued at around $8 billion, according to Karp.

Municipal Corps, Publicly traded corps or private corps are all designed to turn a profit. That is what they do.
People on the other hand can choose to act as just that. Not a matter of sides really, but your choice of identity.
