The reverse is also true, working for the aforementioned places when you don't have kids won't get you any tax break or government benefits.

We don't subsidize employees, we subsidize single mothers that have low incomes. It's discriminatory to not hire someone just because they are a woman or have kids.
Ok.

So we foot the bill when their income is not a living wage.

Different terminology, same concept.

We ARE subsidizing Wal-Mart's employee base currently.
Those "subsidies" are paid for with taxes paid by WalMart. Get it now?

Yes I get it.

They don't balance out. The government foots the bill as you just said.

Do you not see the problem?

Yes, people will just stop shopping and starve. Other chains will come in and fill the gap.

CA should raise the min wage or add a health / insurance tax on Walmart. It is not the job of everyone else in CA to subsidize walmart's profits.

Interesting how the corporatists are so against welfare - unless it comes their way.

And yet when those of us suggest government should stop footing the bill which would require companies like Wal Mart to pay more, you dont comprehend?

Walmart doesn't force taxpayers to do anything. CA chooses to provide welfare payments.

And Walmart should turn around and say:

"California, better educate your residents so they can get better paying jobs to support their families."

The money doesnt go to Wal Mart, it goes to families. Furthermore, what you're suggesting I believe has already been ruled unconstitutional..

Its not going their way. Giving money to families who work there, doesnt give money to Wal Mart

The Dems are the corporatists. They love to subsidize their buddies in business. Obama loves sending billions to his rich buddies.

The best solution is to end all government welfare for both corporations and individuals.
