This incident, Regardless of the cause was tragic and one of the worst aircraft disasters. Some answers would be warranted for sure, Esp for those who lost loved ones. Now, Any major disaster or event often brings out the conspiracy talk. Flight 800 had ones ranging from the Military to terrorism to UFO's and related phenomena. I certainly do not entertain the far-out ones here though, But sensationalism often goes with many tragic events.
Well of course it is for real: don't we know, everything that happens anymore is a cover up or a conspiracy! Is anyone else getting tired of hearing this?
CNN) -- Skeptics who have long theorized that TWA Flight 800 was brought down by sinister forces will get a fresh surge of energy when a new documentary attempts to disprove that the 1996 crash was accidental. The twist: It includes six members of the large accident investigation team who, publicists say, will "break their silence" on the cause of the explosion.
I'm going to predict nebulous claims, not any new information that would warrant reopen a investigation, and that this will just be another UFO/Loose Change/crazy story
I'm partial to the theory that mad scientists at Brookhaven Nat'l Lab (BNL) were testing (your choice (1) a laser weapon, (2) a sonic diruptor, (3) an EMP weapon or (4) a particlebeam weapon) and simply zapped TWA Flight 800. Since the thing exploded and debries rained down off of Smith Point State Park due South of BNL.

Flight 800 was running late and was in a missile test zone that was supposed to be clear at that time. How can any person that's not mentally challenged accept ANYTHING the government says at face value?
the explosion "outside" the aircraft, was the engine
flight 800 was an accident, a mechanical failure

If it was the engine was the problem the black box would have detected it and recorded the instant it had failure. The engine was not the problem.
