This is a curious article in the NY Times. For years Obama has reached out to his fellow Americans on the right (I have to hand it to him, he is persistent and yes, it's true, he is the President to all Americans, not just moderate Republicans). Praise Crom, I have not heard him use that word 'bi-partisan' for some time, which made me feel that perhaps he realized they are the domestic enemies referred to in the phrase 'enemies foreign and domestic'.

This article appears to exhort President Obama to resume reaching out to these plutocrats, serf-wannabes and gun nuts. It was difficult to get through this article without laughing. Some want him to reach out to those who threatened to shoot him, who profess to loathe him for implementing a Republican health plan, etc. One commented that he was startled by the intensity of the polarization he encountered. Now, he is my age so I can understand how to him, a Republican is Gerald Ford or Bob Dole. But today's Republican is Sam Brownback and worse. You can't be a 'uniter' to a Waffen SS battalion.

Moderates and liberals, what do you think?

NEWSFLASH: It's 4 years and 6 months too late for Obama to reach across the political aisle. He ****ed that up in 2009. All eyes are on 2014 and 2016. Give it up. This President is the lamest of lame ducks.

Ignore the right unless they go to him and want to work together, otherwise what would be the point they have proven they are his enemies.

This is precisely why Obama should not reach across the aisle. The moderates have been drowned out by the psychopaths, the wingnuts, and the frothing lunatics, all of whom speak with a bullhorn (or a dogwhistle) to their base.

Pres. Obama once had majority numbers in the House and Senate, and he cold have pulled a Bush/Cheney, where he rammed his agenda down the throats of America, but he is not a wild eyes ideologue like those clowns whom proceeded him.

However, he should no longer seek cooperation. The wingnuts have no desire to meet anyone in the middle, and it's why their base is continually shrinking and will continue it's death spiral.

Nah, they only thing he seeks these days is the next fundraiser. He isn't interested in actually working on our issues in the slightest bit.

Most gun nuts could not recite the precise language of the 2nd Amendment if their lives depended upon it, much less explain the Bill of Rights.

Gun nuts are much like any other nuts, from Trekkies to video game nuts to NASCAR nuts to NFL nuts. All of them have unhealthy fixations on one particular thing, which is never good.

lol. That's exactly what he did.

Conservatives don't want to help him destroy America. Only RINOs do.
