Why are so many (anti-gay) straight men so worried about men they aren't attracted to (gay men) hitting on them? Maybe they feel "emasculated" by it? Maybe they think it's a woman's role to be hit on by men?

I know-and know of-many women who have been hit on by men that they (the women) weren't at all attracted to. Some of those men were married, too! Talk about "family values!"

Why the double standard? (I'm a straight man myself, for what it's worth).

I have been hit on by women I didn't find attractive...I wasn't offended.

If a man hit on me I would be highly offended, why? because I am straight and find it unearthly and unatural to have a man do that whereas a woman doing it is just nature rolling the course until I find my pick.

I would date a very ugly woman before any man any day.

Depends on the social level and level of sophistication- polite people do not even use the term "hit on".. Straight men for the most part just find it insulting that a gay man might even consider that they be intimate with them. It's not a phobia...straight men are simply straight men and take pride in the dignity of being hetero. There is nothing wrong with the art of flirtation...not everybody "hits" on a person with expectations of using them for sex.

It's about civility and respect. Also about class...people are supposed to enjoy other people - and get the most out of human company...You don't need to run around like some dumb animal thinking sex is what life is about...There is more to being a human being than sex.

I wouldn't be offended, I would feel sorry for him. I would never make the choice to turn gay.

No one makes the choice to turn gay. Did you make a choice to turn straight? And why feel sorry for him, he probably does not feel sorry for himself.

Who are all these men who sit around worried about gay guys hitting on em all the time? Do you have some data to back up your statement or are you just tired of being turned down?

I would hope you wouldn't make the choice to turn gay. That's a ridiculous thing for a straight person to do. That would be like a gay person choosing to be straight. All you would be doing is fooling yourself.

Not necessarily. He could just be born lacking intellectual capability.
