A lot of people put Pol Pot in the same league as Hitler, Stalin and co - but really he was just trying to help his country.
When you see what a diablolical mess Cambodia is in today, it's people like Pol that should be brought back into power.

He only killed around 300,000 and most of those were political enemies, the same can be said about many other leaders, even those of supposed democracies.
The rest of the supposed genocide is semi-fabricated, to the extent that much of it was due to Cambodia being a poor country, so issues of disease and famine etc.. (and this would still be happening today if it weren't for foreign aid money).
So Pol Pot actually tried to make his country independent of the neo-colonists - what's so wrong with that?
Yeah, those killing fields must have "not been that bad". Forced evacuations of cites, shutting down all services, the economic collapse, the "purges". The Khmer Rouge was sadistic and brutal. Your revisionist history cannot change that. Or perhaps you haven't read much about it and are just more interested in the case and the Great Leap Forward ideology.

Well geeze only 300,000, I say we give him a bye no big deal.
The number was over 1M and he basically exterminated minorities, Chinese, Vietnamese and sent residents that lived in cities on forced marches to rural areas and leaving them at the mercy of the Khmer Rouge child terrorists.
