They can't participate in the creation of biological children either.
It's "dumb" because they don't want to address the question. If they do, they either have to lie in order to preserve the argument they invented to justify a position they already had about gay couples, or they have to admit that the entire argument they screech in order to justify discrimination is, in fact, a bunch of BS that they don't actually believe.

No, these courageous men ought to be offered healthy tax breaks/credits!

Free food at restaurants! Free coffee at cafes! The works!

Ditto for women who get tubal ligations.

Well, neither can opposite-sex marriages in which the man has had a vasectomy. Furthermore, vasectomies are totally unnatural and are nowhere mentioned in the bible.

So how about it, anti-gays? Should men with vasectomies be forced to remain forever single?

If not, why not?
Are gays really forced to "remain single forever" if they aren't allowed to marry?

Marriage is just about society recognizing the importance of the special male/female union that produces the vast majority of society's well adjusted children.

Same sex people can still have such legally recognized unions, but society reserves the term "marriage" for the male/female union that has proved to be so beneficial to the continuance and stability of society.

And of course men with vasectomies should be allowed to marry since the procedure can be reversed.

No. But they are denied special privileges that married couples have.

For example (these may vary from country/state):

A husband and wife cannot be forced to testify against each other in court
Tax breaks
Next of kin laws
Insurance coverage
Conjugal rights
Citizenship rights
The right to make medical decisions for their SO

I'm sure that there are more but these are the only ones that come to mind right now.

Exactly.

The majority of people who are anti-gay marriage simply don't like the idea of two men or two women getting married (or being together at all) and they want to separate same sex couples as much as they can.

I posted it's a dumb question and the poll revealed it is a dumb question.
The answer is no whether gay or straight.

NO one, with any degree of credibility uses that as a basis for an argument against homosexual "mariage." It just isn't the reason why we are having this argument.

There is no one on the face of the earth that has the authority to change the definition of what mariage is. Mariage is what it is, the uninon of a man and a woman. Period.

Even for a couple that may choose not to have children (for their own reasons), sex between a man and a woman, bonded in holy matrimony, is an intimacy that simply cannot be imitated in so called "same sex couples." It is this bond that forms the fabric of civilized society. And it is this bond which forms the perfect environment for the nurturing of children (if they choose to have them) The counterfeit is destructive to society, and it cannot provide the environment for the raising of well adjusted citizens of a civilized society.

Read the following article (excerpt below):
[W]e cannot debase the whole concept of sex and marriage merely to oblige them. The objective of what a
gay activist has called the ""war we've already won" is to reduce marriage to a lowest-common-denominator
status that will inevitably include polygamy, which is already being touted on ABC-TV as "normal" and
being campaigned for in Canada. That's too high a price to pay for making homosexuals feel better about
themselves.
As Fr. Vandenberg points out in his appendix on same-sex marriage:
Society, for centuries, has had a stake in marriage....It set certain standards for marriage because it
needed marriage to be strong for the well-being of the community; it wanted to help strengthen and
support it in order to foster good social order, especially around the generation of new life and the
raising of children so they would grow up to be responsible members of that community...This
extended relationship of the couple to the larger community is evidenced by the civil requirements
for a valid marriage...An obvious example would be laws forbidding marriage between couples
who were first cousins.
Unfortunately, the institution of marriage is currently being attacked by several forces that, deliberately or
inadvertently, are destroying it and thereby undermining our society:
The current fad of cohabitation. Single mothers usually do not assume this role voluntarily but are forced
to do so by the perfidy and selfishness of men who desert them when they become pregnant. In
consequence, the children suffer from the absence of a father and seek a male role model and mentor,
often by joining gangs.
Ultrafeminists, who regard men as "the enemy". They encourage the idea that men are unnecessary for
raising children and regard lesbian couples as the new "normal". To this end, they cite psychological
studies that fall apart when examined.
Our protosocialist state, which seeks to diminish the concept of family in order to make the state the
primary "parent". This may be one reason why liberals are so enthusiastic about same-sex marriage --
because it weakens the status and importance of families.
But whatever the causes, the debasement of the concepts of marriage and family will destroy us. Lycurgus
achieved it in ancient Sparta and produced a nation of racist brutes. The USSR tried it, with partial success, in
the last century and begat a dysfunctional society that is now painfully groping its way back to normality.
These are hardly encouraging precedents. The legalization of same-sex marriage is a decisive step down that
slippery slope. Articles: What's wrong with Same-Sex Marriage?

OP, I understand your point, although it apparently flew over the head of nearly everyone in this thread.

To the rest of you, of course it's ridiculous, that's the point. It's as ridiculous as those who on this very forum are proclaiming that gays should not be allowed to marry since they cannot have children naturally, because according to them that is the point of marriage. Yeah..
