Were the trust fund repaid, there would be no problem with SS.
We also have a problem of SS being an inherently poor program to begin with. Its returns are several percentage points behind market returns, even in the worst economy. Additionally, the program was never designed to be a retirement plan, which is how most Americans use it today. We also let people retire entirely too early. We live over a decade longer today than we did when SS was started, and the retirement age has not been bumped up to compensate for that.

Our whole economic system is based on debt. The system has made debt valuable. Why do you think the biggest investor, govt invest in it.
The so-called US debt is mostly owned by the FED.
The main reason any of those categories listed even exist is to create an investment fund.

oh I agree, I was just pointing out that social security is a bigger financial risk than military spending right now.

My "reaction" to a thread you posted yesterday was a request that you provide a delineated argument for your accusations against Obama, and you never responded...in your own thread! How can anyone take you seriously?

Because they are busy obstructing the implementation of obamascare which they should be. The better question is why didnt the liberals reach across the aisle in a bi partisan way and include all Americans in legislation to improve health care. This pig we face right now is nothing more than a wrecking ball designed to bring the system to its knees so elite politicians can re distribute favors and kick backs.

How can that be when over half of them haven't even retired yet?
