I just don't see the aid being cut.

Our law is clear and all Obama is doing is stalling for time.
Maybe they can stall it long enough for elections to happen and then they can stop reviewing whether or not the military staged a coup.

Let's follow the money:

There are 2 main components to foreign aid, economic and military. The latter aid is typically used by the beneficiary country to buy weapons and military equipment from U.S. manufacturers.

A delay/reduction/termination in military aid to Egypt or any nation, for that matter, causes breaking existing contracts with U.S. arms manufacturers, causing production lines to shut down, triggering unemployment and all the welfare benefits that go hand in hand with it.

Military aid has always been a huge government subsidy for the U.S. defense industry.

When the going gets tough, Congress has been known to allocate more funding to build new tanks the U.S. military did not ask for and did not want. So Congress decided to spend anyway and gift Egypt.

And in the next breath, they cluck -cluck about the cost of entitlements.

Yes, military aid for foreign countries is really aid for US arms manufacturers.

U.S. aid to Egypt was formally put under review Thursday in the wake of last week’s military-backed power shift as Arab nations rushed to pledge $12 billion to the country's new government.

"Given the events of last week, the president has directed relevant departments and agencies to review our assistance to the government of Egypt," the Pentagon said in a statement.

It marks a policy shift by the Obama administration, which said on Monday that suspending the annual $1.5 billion support to Cairo “would not be in the best interests” of the U.S.
As already said, I don't think in reality this means that anything will change (meaning the American aid to Egypt will continue for various reasons which include the Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty).

Thanks for sharing, and you could be right, but I think it's worth waiting for the results of the official review.
