Should Sunday be a day of rest nationally? Everything will be closed except hospitals & emergency 911.

Several European nations does it, and so should we. Our founding fathers said "except Sunday".

If you want to keep the Sabbath on Sunday by all means do it. I'm Jewish and I keep the Sabbath Friday-Saturday. But I don't try to tell other people that they must do it.

It should be up to the business as to whether or not they choose to be open or not.

Absolutely not. Business owners have the freedom to make the choice on whether or not to be open on Sundays.
