If you do a quick search for the word unconstitutional in this forum there are about a thousand posts with that word, and that's only going back as far as April of this year. Why is the word thrown around so casually? Are people ignorant of the seriousness of something being against the constitution? Has the constitution become a farce? Have the Legislative and Executive branches (and all their various departments) have become so powerful that the Judicial branch is unable to keep up with their actions?

Recently I've been reading about the Patriot Act, and how gag orders turned out to be an unconstitutional part of the act. Unfortunately for those under the gag orders, there was a several year delay between the writing of the law and the day that the law got overturned.

Which brings up a question, is the power balanced among the three branches of the United States?

The courts were supposed to be an equal branch of government. The courts are horribly under funded and under staffed at the federal and state level. A case challenging a law generally take 3-5 years to be resolved. The legislator can pass many laws in that time. The legislator is on law 523 and the courts are still trying to figure out if law number 7 is constitutional.

I wonder why we can't fund the only thing that can brings justice to the corrupt and incompetent people in government...
