Kel-Tecs are cheap. A pf9 (the gun he owns) is well under $300. He can pick up another one whenever he wants, if he wants to, or he can get something else.
I carry a Kel-Tec sometimes, although I haven't carried it since I picked up a Ruger LCP.
Since it is a Kel tec he should let him have it because the gun is low quality and not even worth the fight to get it back.
