Please let me rephrase that...My parents rented a home, and I attended a elementry school for 5 months until my parents found and closed on a new home.
I, in no way, speak for all or any native Hawai'ians, but my preception is that westreners have not assimulated to the ilands' culture. Laid back surfer dude...is not native Hawai'in culture.
Many native Hawai'ins work hard to keep their culture alive and relavent to their youth. Is there resentment for the Westrenization of the Island? I...would think so.
