Most cities are run by Democrats. Why are there so many cities run by Democrats that are thriving?

... and Why are so many dying ?

The ones thriving are really just your major financial centers like NY, San Fran, Chicago.

The others are not doing so well.

I guess you could ask yourself, why are so many conservative rural areas struggling as well? Each area is unique and their successes and struggles go beyond political parties.

In 5 years, Detroit will once again be a thriving, bustling, low crime city.
Now please share how you think Detroit would pay for essential city services (police, fire, street maintenance, snow removal, etc.) with no tax base or outside funding.

Do this and Detroit's human development index will start looking like an average country in Africa in 5 years. And blue/red has nothing to do with it. Name me one city in the world over 80% black that is rich and thriving, and I'll eat my 3 day old underpants.

What makes you think a conservative revival would include any city services? All of these could be done by private contractors hired by individuals and individual businesses. The conservative dream is complete privatization without unions or minimum wages so why not let Detroit be a test case.

Yep, a libertarian paradise, like you'd find in Africa.

Lower individual taxes so small business owners can profit. That is how you build a city from the ground up.

You are trying to build a city from the top down and that does not work.

New York City started with the small port businesses. Wall St, Madison Ave, Times Square, did not just appear there.
Every hear of sales tax?

Ever hear of property tax?
