That's what happens in the crank mindset. Either you are 100% with them no matter what, or you are the evil enemy...or the deluded sheep that will never get what they are talking about (and okay for collateral damage in their fight). Especially after all the frustration of failing over and over after promises by their champions that when they tried it, it would work.
The only thing supporting it is bigotry and insanity. They keep trying the same arguements over and over again after complete failure. Most of the arguments haven't changed since bigoted crank "Judah Benjamin" put them out. It seems to have become a flag for the deluded and racist to champion...which is nice because the rest of the world knows who to avoid.
It's only selfish interest for Corsi. He finally realized instead of helping himself by promoting his cause, he was making himself look like a complete raving lunatic. Like watching Homer try and read the joke after Bart writes "Insert Brain Here" on the back of his head. He's spinning around in circles and people laugh because they think he's silly, then after he goes for a bit people realize he's just that stupid.
Just to add, if Corsi actually had some brains between his ears he would have done it the way Trump and the Cold Case Posse went out. They just stopped giving updates, and when asked about either "investigation" the people just vaugely state somethings still going on. That way they quit looking publically insane, and the birther loonies aren't actively persuing the heratic to their beliefs.

Corsi is a good businessman. He saw the demand that racists were looking for and provided them with products to fit their racist biases.

i've been assuming that corsi would be co-writing zullo's upcoming book ( he co-wrote the last book with zullo on the investigation released before the cold case posse's press conference ) and that in would be published, in whatever format, by WND. now i'm not so sure. will be interesting to see what progresses.
