"It’s no surprised that a Planned Parenthood accountant would have a history of theft given that the abortion business has been found to have defrauded taxpayers and the federal government."
“Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast is proud of the high quality health care we provide, and more than 50,000 Texans rely on us every year for essential, high quality prevention services.
“The allegations in this complaint are baseless and we are ending this case as a practical matter. Continuing this litigation in the hostile environment for women’s health would have ensured a lengthy and costly process that would have distracted our energies and required us to share the private medical information of thousands of women. We are ending this lawsuit in order to devote all of our time and energy to delivering high-quality, affordable health care.”
Notice my quotes around fraud. That means its alleged. there is no evidence provided that there was any except for the claims of an anonymous "whistleblower".
Since there WILL be no court case for this, we don't know if the claims are true.
No, its about the constant lying by certain anti-choicers/women haters who continue to spread rhetoric, and when called out on it, they change the subject. The thread started off with a LIE right in the title.
They admitted to doing it, are you telling me you know more about what they do than they do?
this PARTICULAR PP did not OFFER or even PERFORM ABORTIONS. so right off the BAT, you are 100% and arguing from a calim that is WRONG;
The rest of your post follows from this WRONG assumption.
So ...... you make a statement and I provide a link to disprove your statement. My link is from the "particular PP" ..... in this case it is the Gulf Coast Planned Parenthood ...... and I'm the one who is "wrong"?
This is what it's like anytime people have to deal with an Ideologue - they will insist you are "wrong" even when faced with the "proof" right from the web-site of the organization in question. They do Abortions, they have information on their web-site to help guide a person on how to get an Abortion, they even have a Political Action Fund 501(c) Tax Exempt wing to advocate for Abortions ...... and yet, anyone who has the nerve to point that out using the Gulf Coast Council Planned Parenthood website ...... is (gasp) WRONG.
You can't make this stuff up - but a ten count of "roll eyes" is supposed to convince us all.
Yep. Always checking. You chose to put "abortion" in the title of the thread knowing it would get attention, after all. You could have chosen "Whistleblower in Texas". I'd have ignored that thread.
I'm VERY interested in anything that would deny us our rights as guaranteed by law. (Which is the agenda of the anti-choice. I find that frightening. You should too if you like living in a free country.) An informed citizenship. Can't have a democracy without it.
I am glad you are staying informed about pro-life.
"It turns out the AG was apparently only announcing his state’s cut. The total settlement is actually $4.3 million – almost $3 million more than previously known. From the Houston Chronicle today:"
"Planned Parenthood’s Houston-based affiliate clarified Tuesday that it settled for $4.3 million, three times the $1.4 million that Abbott reported a week ago.
His spokesman tried to explain the discrepancy, indicating Abbott intended to announce the smaller amount, which represents the “state’s designation.” But it’s unclear why Abbott wouldn’t have announced the whole amount."
"The attorney general also jumped the gun with his press release, announcing the settlement before it had been finalized. (It has since been signed by all parties.)"
You wouldn’t probably know it from media coverage but, as one conservative think tank noted this week:
Alliance Defending Freedom’s recent analysis of state and federal audits of family planning programs suggests that in 12 states, Planned Parenthood affiliates overbilled Medicaid for more than $8 million. One federal audit of New York’s Medicaid family planning program reported that certain providers, “especially Planned Parenthoods,” had engaged in improper practices resulting in overpayment.
The good people at Alliance Defending Freedom have forwarded me [scribd]157465464[/scribd]the settlement agreement[/url] between Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast and the United States of America, the Texas Attorney General, and whistleblower Karen Reynolds, for charges that PPGC committed Medicaid fraud between 2003-2009. The settlement was signed by all parties on July 24 and 25.
As I wrote yesterday, PPGC has agreed to pay $4.3 million. According to the settlement, the money will be divied three ways:
$2,552,169 – United States
$1,247,000 – Karen Reynolds (bounty)
$500,831 – State of Texas
In addition, PPGC must pay Reynolds’ attorney fees. Reynolds was represented by the American Center for Law and Justice.
Everyone has already acknowledged fraud, which has NOTHING to do with abortions they weren't performing anyway.
Well if you can't get the government to give you money to do abortions than defraud them out of the money. They should be shut down.
