I don't think a boycott will do anything. That said, I would not participate in the boycott. Have been to Florida several times when I was younger, and have a lot of wonderful memories about those times. I hope one day to visit again in the near future.

I've said this before but the NAACP has been boycotting the state of South Carolina for years and years. So, the impact? Um, nothing. However, Charleston was named the #1 tourist destination in the world so guess that boycott didn't work.

Past boycott attempts should prove that they simply do not work. Didn't work for South Carolina, didn't work for Chic-Fil-A and won't work for Florida.

And given that South Carolina is located in the Sun Belt, and it's population continues to grow.... Yeah, I'm not seeing that boycott working too well, and I don't think it would work for Florida either.

I don't go to Florida now and have no plans in the near future, does that count as a boycott?

I won't make a difference. The law will not be repealed, the jury's decision will not be reversed, and life will go on. If people want to change the laws, lobby for it. Boycotting is a short-term, feel good thing.

LOL

I have never been to florida and have absolutely no desire to visit.
I guess a lot of people do, though. One of my friends owns a condo down there and keeps telling me I can use it, but, blech...no thanks!

That's pretty much how I feel about Jersey. I've been there once, and nothing about it is calling me back.

Default To what purpose?

The first to be punished would be people in low paying jobs that depend upon the tourist industry- many of them people who are very much opposed to stand your ground.
