Why are so many people denying this poll? And why would anyone not be comfortable with a gay King? It wouldn't actually make a difference to your lives unless you were planning on watching them in the bedroom...
Yes, we will have an openly gay member of the Royal Family in the near future - it is an extensive family and therefore statistically some of them will be gay.
As for a gay King, what title would his husband take, especially as same-sex marriages will soon be taking place in England and Wales?
And as for a succession to a gay King who will not have children of his own, the Throne will pass to the next eligible member of the Royal Family.
Both Edward II and William III were believed to have had same-sex relationships although they were both married.
If there were some real proofs, it would have been no discussions on this topic in the scientific community. There is no consensus on these studies. Many scientists claim that homosexuality is a mental disorder.
Many people believe the world is only 2013 years old, and scientists at one time debated whether the world was flat... guess that means these are facts, lol.
Why would one mix racial issue and homosexuality? This issues have absolutely different roots.
Who's "mixing" anything? It's called an analogy, Einstein... and a very relevant one, since your claim is that if it was once deemed as truth/law by science or government, it must then be an indisputable fact.
It has always been a mental disorder. In 1999 some liberal politicians have decided to remove homosexuality from the UN's list of disorders without scientific base for doing that. Strictly political decision.
Homosexuality had been officially classified as a mental disorder in the APA's first Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-1) in 1952.
In 1953, Evelyn Hooker, PhD, applied for a National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) grant to conduct research on “normal homosexuals.” During this period of American history, Sen. Joseph McCarthy was seeking out communists wherever he suspected they might be lurking; homosexual acts were a crime; bomb shelters were springing up in backyards; and the term “normal” homosexual was thought to be an oxymoron. A variety of medical and psychological treatments to “cure” homosexuality were employed, including ice pick lobotomies, electroshock, chemical castration with hormonal treatment or aversive conditioning. Gay parties were raided by the police, particularly in election years when a crackdown on “sexual perversion” was seen as a positive step in the fight on crime.
... Hooker began an investigation that would ultimately result in the removal of homosexuality as a form of psychopathology from theDiagnostic and Statistical Manual III of the American Psychiatric Association.

In 1972, for the first time, the annual meeting featured exhibits and discussions spotlighting positive aspects of the lives of gay individuals. Also during that year well-known psychiatrists such as Richard Green, M.D., Judd Marmor, M.D., and John Spiegel, M.D., began openly challenging psychiatrists' attitudes toward and treatment of homosexual patients, Sabshin observed. Marmor, a psychoanalyst who would soon be elected APA president, played a particularly significant role in trying to bridge the chasm that existed between his psychoanalytic colleagues and psychiatrists who were convinced that homosexuality was not an illness.

In a key vote in December 1973, the Board of Trustees overwhelmingly endorsed Spitzer's recommendation. Opponents of the decision attempted to overturn it with a referendum of the APA membership in early 1974-just as Sabshin was beginning his 23-year tenure as APA medical director. The Board's decision to delete homosexuality from the diagnostic manual was supported by 58 percent of the membership.
Seriously? Are some people idiots that they still think of homosexuality as a "mental disorder"? No wonder they're so angry, the world has moved on without them. Must be a lonely place.
Try reading the book for yourself. It's pretty important. That book reveals the psychiatric prejudice against homosexuals who had helped to criminalize homosexuality in the past and explains how homosexuality become part of the DSM in the first place.
Oh yeah, I forgot that you do not consider Christian resources trustable. Its only www.pro-gay-organization.com are good.
Read the book for yourself. You might actually learn something!!!
