BTW, I grew up in the hood and there were many white boys I knew who used the "n" word freely around his black friends. Contrary to what you might believe, black people know when to take offense and when not to when the word is used. And it's obvious you know better, because you've not yet built up the courage to try it out for size. And you'd better keep it that way (and you will).
