No surprise. CBS's viewership has been falling steadily, and so their commercials don't command the fees they used to. The cable channels can't exist unless they make a profit, and CBS no longer is. So it's inevitable that the various cable markets will start dropping them.
No problem. Networks that people actually want to watch - such as Fox News, which is growing faster than CBS is sliding - will take up the slack. Leftist fanatics who can't stand to hear "the other side" aired won't like it. But normal people appreciate a station that airs both the conservative and liberal viewpoints, letting them make up their own minds.

CBS is doing just fine. It's been the number 1 broadcaster for the last decade or so.
After the closing bell, Comcast was joined by the CBS Corporation, the owner of the CBS broadcast network, which reported its highest quarterly profits ever. Earnings there rose to $472 million, or 76 cents a share, from $427 million, or 65 cents a share, in the period a year earlier.
You can't just go around making things up to fit your world view.

That's too bad - this is the golden age of American television. There just FAR too many great series out there now that I limit myself to a handful. Thankfully, seasons have been reduced to 10-13 episodes, which makes them easier to manage.
As for a la carte, no, it won't save you much money. Think TWC is an angel here? Ha! They're going to squeeze you as hard as they can.
Local TV stations are getting greedy. Before cable/sat, TV stations sent out a signal that you could receive for free on an antenna. They got their revenue from advertisers. For some reasons they think they should get huge fees if the same signal with the same commercials are sent through a wire to peoples homes. Shouldn't they be paying the cable companies to carry their signal if they want more viewers to see none stop Geico and Progressive commercials?
We got dropped from CBS, husband likes to watch some of the evening shows, last week. We are on Dish. I was wondering if our bill would drop also. ~sarcasm~
Hey, I'm wondering how many customers Time Warner, Dish and Directv have to lose before they wise up and become more attuned to what customers want, lower pricing and the opportunity to pick and choose programming?
If I thought I could find a ISP for less than $40+ a month, my TWC-Roadrunner would be out the door.
I've been thinking of NetZero for 4G but $29.95 only get's you limited bandwidth-usage.

I'm waiting for the day Comcast will tell me I can opt out of ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox. I don't watch them at all these days, I'd rather just pay for cable.
