Kind of like our local fire department. They spent a million dollars( maybe it was two) on a big ladder truck when most buildings in the area only have two floors. They trot it out every chance they get even for false alarms so it can be seen. I think it does get loaned to neighboring townships and the city, though. Should last a long time seeing very little actual use like it does.
They "need" a new fire house now, too. As for the police, I don't mind so much. But seeing three or four police cars pull somebody over gets you excited and then its only a DUI or a speeding ticket.

Why does it "get you excited"? Shouldn't it make you feel uneasy or cause you alarm that they are using such a display against such simple things?

That'd be hilarious, DHS an internal Army with Sheila Jackson-Lee at the helm. I'll be painting my windows black and bolt myself inside.

The reality is your continual shrieking does little to advance anything as most thinking people have tuned out the constant din of doomsday from the right. After all, Obamacare will lead to the end of the U.S..

I believe the libertarian John Stossel did a report on the police state in America recently.

So has Amy Goodman.

The president is anti-1st Amendment?

We don't need that because we have the Second Amendment and militias to do that very thing Mr. Obama ...their oath is to uphold the Constitution not allegiance to you...one of his speeches is on youtube on this matter sounds like Adolf to me.
I was working for DoD when that "national security force" stuff went out. The Silly Service personell were classified by GS ratings and titles as to what their jobs would be should the plan be implemented. They had a bunch of unclassified ramblings from DC about it. Like...prospectus things, that were written up by whoever and sent out distribution all.

Lol, picturing a lot of these clowns as "security force operatives" was amusing. It was basically a plan to create a "militia" within federal employee ranks. It didn't get far, but it smacked of an end run around the second amendment to create a "wellregulated militia" out of federal employees.

During the rise of the security state during the Bush era, someone smartly stated that once the tools are in the Executive Office toolbox, no one wants to take them out of the toolbox and put them back. I never once thought for a second that Obama would do anything to roll back the security state, because if he had, conservatives would have gone apoplectic. Could you imagine Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, FOX News, etc. and the theories on why he is doing such a thing? Secret plot to destroy USA from within.

The truth is, we have the neoconservatives to thank for the "new normal", and we have conservatives to thank that things remain this way.
