That is exactly the problem. Crack is punished 10x more harshly than similar cocaine offenses. The war on drugs is battled explicitly in minority communities. It is a BS war. Read the New Jim Crow and you will have a wild.y different perspective.

Whites are more likely to use the powder form of cocaine which is a purer form and is snorted or used intervenously and is more expensive. Crack which is cheaper and is cut with baking soda or some other cheap additive that burns, which is smoked and is sold more by minorities in urban city areas.
Now, since the only difference between the two is the cost, how it is ingested and what is added to it, why are the mandatory sentencing for crack 5-10 time harsher then powder cocaine?
blacks are 17% of the population but they do 70% of the crime so how is racial profile a bad thing, they are doing all the crime. But i don't blame blackness for it, I blame lack of education. everything they have complained about they have brought on to themselves.

as far as war on drugs, we all know its a federal fund to put more people on the government payroll. if they actual won the war we would have to lay off cops. can't have that

When I stumbled upon this quote, I wasn't surprised that anyone would make a statement like this because it seems to be another way for people to bash black men, without looking at the reasons these black men are commiting crimes that obviously lable them as crimminals. I haven't read this book, but from this quote alone can one resonably agree or disagree with this quote and back it up with facts?
The bottom line is that crime is tied to poverty, education and family status. (ie. unwed moms)
