Numerous reason why they are having issues.

I understand the spiritual angle that Finn is coming from, but 1) it's hard to prove that assertion to non-Christians especially when 2) many companies that embrace the lifestyle still profit.

God can definitely make life difficult at certain times.
God's in marketing now?

God is in everything.

Let me rephrase - God sees everything and can act upon anything and anybody.

Sorry, not buying that theory.

If I believed that I'd believe God is one sadistic SOB for much of what happens on earth.

And I hardly think God gives a rat's ass about JCP's sales.

So far JCP has been the worst offender. If other stores have done something similar, they have been so subtle that I have not even noticed. JCP should have known better than go all-in with the agenda.

Anyone that boycotts a product because of the ideology of the owners is a fanatic.

I'll eat at Paula Deen's restaurant any day of the week, and I'll buy a Ted Nugent Cd if he actually made good music, and I'll watch an Eastwood film

Pull your head out of the Bible-sand. A few thousand people like you in the US are not the cause of JCP's poor performance as a retailer.

I think it's getting a lot better. The problem they have now is that they lost a ton of customers when they went to substandard merchandise, and they're slow to come back now that things have improved. I said this in an earlier post, but I went there out of desperation--I was trying to find a pair of 28 waist 34 length dress pants for one of my sons. They had them! I did more looking around, and I liked what I saw. I wouldn't have stepped in the door except to look for the pants, but now I"ll be back.

The Ellen DeGeneres argument--that she somehow hurt their sales--is ridiculous. She's the 10th most powerful celebrity in the United States according to Forbes, and people LOVE HER.

It does seem absurd. It seems similar to the liberals who keep doubling down on the racist conservative nonsense despite there being no evidence of it and them being unable to produce any whenever they're asked. This thing that JC Penny losing money must be because they support gays is just like the liberal thing that conservatives wanting voter ID must be so they can deprive black people of the vote. Both are pure supposition stemming from partisan reasons with no facts to demonstrate any real linkage between them.
