We should give guns to children so they can defend themselves.

They don't call a gun "the equalizer" for nothing. A gun is much more dangerous than other types of weapons. So yes I think they need to be more restricted. Unfortunately the streets are already flooded with them, so that may be difficult to impossible unless they completely stop the manufacturing of them.

Yes, they do. Remember, you're dealing with people who believe that guns are evil and just owning one will make you evil as well.

Not even! The bad guys just get a lot of good ballistic media to play with their hardware on. I can hear it now...."S*** man! Tbis is wayyyy more fun than tbem video games!!" Hell yea! When only the cops can shoot back, and they are 30 min out, thats a LOT of play time, dontcha think?

(Sigh)the big pic, of what so easily could be, if this degradation of our rights continues, is so lost on so many....

I'm not the one calling six shots fired and nobody injured a shooting spree. You may want to take the failure up with the OP.

Jim Bob down the street is not the same as a military person fighting in Iraq. Outside of self defense, the average joe has no need for a gun. I know in Ga in the Atlanta area there are far too many pawn shops that sell guns and I can gurantee you plenty of illegal guns sells are probably made out of those shops hence why felons such as this guy had no problem getting one.

Wonder why they don't work? Could it be the case that criminals tend to ignore those laws and strict limits on gun ownership would only serve to disarm the law-abiding public?
Right. So let's eliminate those laws to make your silly NRA talking points relevant.

And when these people start using machetes and axes (like in China) then we'll outlaw them.

If that shooter had been jailed with his previous terroristic threat and violent outburst then this situation would have never happened.

We're not tough on crime. That's our problem. That shooter was on probation.
