Now, Australias former deputy prime minister tells other Australians to boycott visiting America because you are 15 times more likely to be shot dead in the USA than Australia per capita per million people.

Yeah, it's horrible. It's only the foundation of the the most admired and most envied country on the planet....

Some people, I tell ya.

Well, the US certainly has an affinity for the "wild west."

It has nothing to do with the topic.

Missed the murders of tourists in Florida several years ago.
The state didn't clamp down until tourist dollars started drying up.

Really? Everyone dreams of living on the east or west coast? Nice way to insult nearly 2/3 of the country.

No kidding! I live in Florida and cannot wait to move back to landlocked Colorado.

The boycott won't last...just like when all the stars were boycotting Florida because of the Zimmerman case...Justin Timberlake is playing tonight I believe-

Very sad case-but of course race had nothing to do with it right?

1. FYI and for the record, I am Jewish, and NOT for Jesus. Technically the 2 are incompatible.

2. The 2nd amendment has nothing to do with this, and in fact HAD nothing to do with it. Kids that young aren't allowed to have those guns in the first place, so they were breaking the law. Criminals do that.. Laws affect law abiding citizens, these were criminals.

Last, the 2nd amendment is what ensures that what happened in Nazi Germany, won't happen in the U.S. The first thing Hitler did, was disarm the citizens. You should know that.

The problem stems politicians that are not leaders. This reverse racism it overlooked today. Unfortunately; we have top leadership that can only see one side. That is not brining us together; it is arming all of the camps and preparing for war: This Homeland Security Employee Is Preparing for a Coming Race War - Abby Ohlheiser - The Atlantic Wire. You have to have leaders that show their disapproval of all violence against any race.

By the way, on gun control; most of us do not want criminals to have guns. How do we take the guns out of the hands of people breaking the law? Who wants to be defenseless against people that kill because they are bored? GRANNY, GET YOUR GUN! - The National Enquirer

Aussies have to accept that we defend, to our last law abiding citizens life, the right of gangs wearing colors, to exist, ignore existing gun laws, sell drugs, cause mayhem and repeatedly committ violent crimes.

The Aussies need to realize that a portion of our society and social justice advocates have embraced and sanctioned a gangster mentality which displaces established law. For instance, it is fine to violently assault someone for calling you a name. You can shoot someone for dissing you in any perceived fashion. Subscription to gun laws by gang members is optional and to be discouraged. Average gang menber is 15 years old because they can commit felonies for the benefit of the gang and have their record cleared in a few years.

Plea deals allow for statistics to hide many crimes. Free pass to save time, money and get some sentencing. Pinched for committing a crime of atrocious assault with a firearm and plea down to a lesser charge for cooperation. Now run your stats and find that the crime for which the perp was originally arrested but not convicted for is not included in your database.

This latest incident takes the breath away. It has less to do with guns than it does a broken society, social justice and a slippery slope driven by litigous lawyers. The law was meant as a back up for the moral character developed by family, religion and local community. The law is toothless and does not work standing alone, except in a police state. the law states you can do it if there is no law against it.

The social justice movement is meant to replace relgious teachings and is doing a very poor job.

From afar, the Aussies, will pity a society who thinks it a crime for a kid to chew a pop tart into the shape of a gun and at the same time allow a gang member to repeatedly commit violent crimes.
In our world the fear of the slippery slope trumps outright violent crime.

Yes. Boycotts really work quite well. I decided NOT to go to England on a trip because a couple of Moslems cut off the head of a British soldier in the middle of a street. The worst that the animals can get is life which doesn't actually mean life in the EU thanks to a recent Brussels Court ruling. At least here in my country, I can carry a gun and make some effort to protect myself and family members. Of course I can't always have a 360 degree awareness when an animal attacks out of nowhere. Leave your house and take your chances. Leave your country, go to a violent country and take your chances. Go to HI and get your arm bit off by a shark and die. Life is fragile. Ultimately it is deadly to everyone.
