It is worth noting that before Bush Jr. was elected (or selected, if you believe that) in 2000, the Democrats were often (though not always) perceived as the more hawkish party. After all, Wilson got us into WWI, FDR got us into WWII, Truman got us into Korea, LBJ got us into Vietnam, et cetera.
To be honest, I don't particularly care whether or not Assad actually used chemical weapons. I might still support a NATO military intervention in Syria if:
-Other NATO countries agree to take most of the load off of the United States (like they did in Libya in 2011)
-NATO has a clear plan about how to intervene
-The odds of some kind/form of success in this intervention are at least somewhat good, but preferably very good
WW1....Woodrow Wilson (D) 117,000 dead Americans
WW2....fdr (D) 450,000 dead Americans
Korea....Truman (D) 36,000 dead Americans
Vietnam....jfk/lbj (D's) 58,000 dead Americans (and then the lefties spat upon our brave men upon return!)

And most prominent dummycrats voted FOR Iraq and Afghanistan.
Obama even called the war in Afghanistan the "good war" or some crap.

Bingo.
Now, let's see how many Americans died in all of the GOP-initiated wars and compare these numbers with those for the Dem-initiated wars.
