You seem to hear more talk about gay marriage than climate change/global warming, even if the latter is, I would argue, far more important because it affects all of us. I'm not saying gay marriage is totally unimportant, but to be honest I really don't feel strongly about it (yes I'm straight so it doesn't personally affect me, nor do i know any gay people hankering to get hitched). I don't agree that gay people are being denied basic human rights or oppressed just because they can't be officially married, but if they want it so much they should have the same rights as married couples. Whether to call it 'marriage' is a subjective thing anyway. I think it's because the media thinks it's a juicy topic..in the 80s and 90s most gays probably didn't even think of/care about this idea of gay marriage, it didn't even occur to many of them or they thought it was just silly. Global warming, in contrast, is real and will radically alter the way we live, possibly threatening millions or billions.

I just feel politicians should focus way more on the environment than issues like gay marriage.

One we can change, one we can't.

I'm not going to assume anything. Match 'em up for me.

Easy for you to say since you probably don't have any rights denied. You can just go on your merry way And both are equally important.

When the climate changes people are just going to be along for the ride. Not much sense in obsessing over it.

I'd rather they stay focused on gay marriage. Environmentalist whackos can do far more damage than gay marriage advocates.

We are currently making changes to one. The other is doing it's own thing just like it has forever.

With climate changes, the screwing over is much more balanced. With gay marriage, only gay and bi people are discriminated against.
